Wonderful, touching and hilarious film about the unsung stars of so many records that you carry in your heart.
- Elvis Costello

It was incredible! I felt just like I was sitting there with them at that table. It had everything I wanted to see and more that I didn't expect. Tommy's humor drew you in and the lifelong respect for each other was so evident. Thank you for making this film because it shows that these legendary musicians, who we listen to everyday, are anything but invisible!!!!!!
- Peter Frampton

That's really how it was. These were The Greats the best of the best! They made the music to the sound tracks of our lives. This offering gives us insight into the minds, the art and the soul of these creative musicians.
- Jose Feliciano

Denny Tedesco has given us an amazing look at a musical moment in history that everyone who loves rock and roll should see.
- Christopher Guest- Director/actor Spinal Tap

Like the Funk Brothers being the backbone of the Motown Sound, the Wrecking Crew were the backbone of the L.A. Sound. This group of musicians played on and created hundreds of hits that became the soundtrack to our lives in the 60s and 70s and are still on radio today. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who likes music and who doesn't? It's an historical peek and inside look at the backbone of American hit parade music that rocked the world.

Thank you so much for your interest in screening the Documentary, "The Wrecking Crew".

SYNOPSIS
Collectively, their roster of hit songs is unmatched in the recording industry, numbering into the hundreds and spanning decades. They've been -- pun fully intended -- significantly instrumental in building the rise to stardom for a varied list of popular artists from The Beach Boys to Frank and Nancy Sinatra; from The 5th Dimension to Sam Cooke; from The Carpenters to Cher. They'd crafted some of pop music's most timeless and recognizable songs. And yet, outside the industry, few could name a single member.

They are The Wrecking Crew.

When a hit record was the desired result, there were no others to consider but, The Wrecking Crew, a group of professional session musicians for hire who, as the film unveils, lent far more to these hit songs than mere instrumentation.

Director/Writer Denny Tedesco's chronicle of pop music's heyday delves back to the late 50s, the 60s and the 70s, an era of all night recording sessions in cramped, smoke-filled rooms, when real musicianship was not only appreciated, it was demanded. Stocked with rare, historical footage and interviews with the group’s members along with testimonials from music giants Dick Clark, Herb Alpert, Glen Campbell, Cher, Brian Wilson, Jimmy Webb, Gary Lewis among many,

THE WRECKING CREW is an essential document of contemporary pop history and a must-see for anyone who's ever picked up an instrument, lived-off pop radio and collected music.
Why can I not buy this film on the internet or watch it on television?
Even though we have been blessed by wonderful reviews, sold out screenings and amazing awards, we cannot show the film to a paying audience until all the licensing of the songs are paid for. If you look at the Song Listing on the home page, you'll understand why it's taken us 18 years to get to this point.

How are we overcoming our dilemma?
I am now turning our efforts to having private screenings with folks that are interested in crossing over the art of music with film making. As in music, there is a wonderful feeling of experiencing art as a group.

In addition, we are now accepting donations to help pay for the outstanding licensing fees so we can finally bring this project to the masses. The Wrecking Crew is a fiscally sponsored project of the International Documentary Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions made in behalf of The Wrecking Crew are payable to IDA and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
